5 night pre-stay
ITINERARY
Day 1 – Arrival at Venice airport and transfer to the hotel in Mestre area for check-in and short break. Later in the early afternoon transfer to Trochetto station, from where we will take the boat to the center of Venice. Cruise with the boat will offer the first view of the »City of Canals«. Your guided tour will take you to St. Mark’s Square with the beautiful basilica of St. Mark, always interesting astrological clock and bell tower Campanile, Bridge of Sighs, and the most important bridge – Rialto. Free afternoon to enjoy the city on your own. Later in the evening dinner in a local restaurant, transfer to hotel for overnight.
Day 2 – After breakfast departure towards Trieste, a maritime gateway for the Northern Italy. Trieste is a capital of Friuli Venezia Giulia region and a charming town with amazing architecture and lovely places to enjoy a glass of Italian wine. After the guided tour of the town, some free time for lunch and discovering the city on your own. Later in the afternoon transfer towards Slovenian border and the town of Postojna. Dinner and overnight in hotel Jama next to Postojna cave park.
Day 3 – After breakfast we start with the discovery of the park. The first stop will be Predjama castle, an amazing Renaissance fortress, built within a cave. A guided tour of the castle will take you through the history and adventures of the famous inhabitants of the castle. After the visit take a short transfer to and enter the queen of caves – Postojna cave, the only cave in the world with a train in it. The cave offers a unique experience of the underworld, full of mysteries and wonders of nature. After lunch and some free time, we head further towards Croatia. Check-in to semi-centrally located hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 4 – After breakfast start with a guided tour of Croatian capital. Walking tour of historical capital Zagreb composed of the Gornji Grad and Kaptol, will show medieval urban complex of churches, palaces, museums, galleries and government buildings popular sightseeing spots of the city. Free afternoon to enjoy and discover the city on your own. Traditional dinner with folklore in a local restaurant, overnight in Zagreb.
Day 5 – After breakfast departure from Zagreb towards the inner land of Croatia, where one of the most beautiful natural parks is waiting for you! With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers, and already on 8 April 1949, it was proclaimed Croatia’s first national park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered one of the most spectacular natural phenomena with 16 emerald-turquoise lakes that are connected to each other by a fabulous system of waterfalls. Lunch at the park and some free time to discover the area on your own. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Plitvice.
Day 6 – After breakfast check-out and departure towards Split, Šibenik, Zadar or Dubrovnik, the center of Dalmatia. Transfer to the port where the cruise starts and embark the ship.
